I want to try out some web conferencing software with you this
Thursday. I'm going to set up (as much as I can) individual
conferences with you so that I can do tech support over the phone if it
is needed. Here are your options:
- Skype: I'm a Skype novice,
but it worked out best of the two options when I tried it with some
people this morning. I reccommend installing and signing up for
Skype. Please send me your Skype name when you have one. My
Skype name is langfordmath.
- Adobe connect: this seems to be the conferencing software of
choice at the university, but the microphone kept cutting in and out
when we tested it, so right now it is relegated to being the backup
option. To access Adobe connect on Thursday, go to the web site http://extendlms.ics.uwex.edu/uwrfted324s2c/
and enter the meeting as a guest.
The goals of this conference are:
- Test and verify the software
- Find out concerns you have about what we are studying
Please sign up for a time in the D2L discussion board. If the times I
have listed don't work for you, let me know when will work for
you. I can handle a couple of people at a time I think for
conferences, but tech and installation issues are kind of
unpredictable, so I don't want to try to conference with too many
people at a time this time.
