Study for test 1:

1. Explain putting an improper fraction on a number line or with a rectangular diagram

2. Explain adding two fractions with a diagram. See example for 2/3 + 4/5

3. Explain multiplying two fractions with a diagram. See examples for 3/4 x 5/8 and 5/4 x 15/8

4. Be able to explain dividing fractions using a partitive explanation. See problems 5 and 6 on the fraction division assignment.

5. Be able to decide whether a fraction word problem is addition, subtraction, subtraction and multiplication, multiplication or division, and write a number sentence to solve it.

6. Write a word problem that is addition, subtraction, multiplication, partitive division or measurement division for provided numbers.
