Today, please do some Venn diagram practice on the web.
- Do all 14 of the problems on the NLVM Venn
diagram page. (Note, if that doesn't work, google NLVM, then
choose grades 6-8 number and operations, and scroll down to the bottom
of the list (it's alphabetical--you're looking for "Venn Diagrams")
- When you get to the Venn diagram page, click Show Problem
- Read the instructions over to the right that explain how to
erase the shading from a region once you've shaded it (the key is to
shift-click)
- Shade in to show the answer to the first problem, and then
click Check
- When you have the shading correct, click Next Problem to go on
- Go to the Shodor Venn
Diagram Shape Sorter page.
- Choose Guess the Rule , and choose two overlapping sets .
- Play the game by dragging shapes into the circles to see what
goes where
- When you figure it out, guess the rules for the circles
- Play at least 3 times
- See if you can guess the rules without dragging all of the
shapes out
- Play the shading Venn diagrams game
at SliderMath.
- Try out the Venn Diagram Applet here.
This applet was developed by someone who was used to some different
