Commutative and distributive law homework:

Use array diagrams to help you write a good explanation for:

1. Explain why the commutative law works, for the example 6 × 4 = 4 × 6
(your explanation should have an array and some labels and some words and sentences.  Your explanation should not use the fact that 6 × 4 =24)

2. Explain why the distributive law works for the example 3 × 7 = 3 × (5 + 2) = 3 × 5 + 3 × 2
(your explanation should have an array and some labels and some words and sentences.  Your explanation should not use the fact that 3 × 7 =21, 3 × 5 =15, 3 × 2 = 6 or that 15+6=21. It's find for your explanation to use the fact that 7 = 5 + 2 )
