Your assignment: identify the CGI problem type of word problems in curriculum materials.

Part 1: One of the handouts last month was a first grade unit: Story Problem Strategies.

a. In lesson 2 (pg 218-219) there are 4 problems suggested in the lesson and 3 in the Class Activity sheet. For each of those 7 problems, identify what CGI types each problem is.

b. In lesson 14 (pg 284) there are 4 problems suggested for a Math Talk in the lesson. For each of those 4 problems, identify what CGI type each problem is.

Part 2: One of your books is Primary Mathematics 2A, a grade 2 textbook. On pages 55-58 are review problems from the addition and subtraction units. Within these review problems are several word problems. Identify the problem type of each of the word problems (different sub-parts may have different problem types) The specific word problems to consider are:

pg. 55 # 10, 11, 12a, 12c
pg. 56 # 6, 7b, 8, 9
pg. 58 # 10, 11, 12, 13a, 13b, 14a, 14b, 15a, 15b.
