Assignment:

1. Using materials you have (or can get for almost no money) create some groupable base-10 manipulatives.

• Tell what you are using for units
• Explain how you are grouping the units into groups of ten (there should be a physical object and/or process involved, not just putting units into piles)
• Make the number 35 with your manipulatives and take a picture of it. (type your description in a Word document, and insert the picture into the document).

2. Get the base 10 blocks out of your manipulative kit. Take pictures of each of these things, and paste them in your document.

• The number 342
• 10 ones lined up next to a ten, showing that they are the same shape and size.
• 10 tens lined up with each other side by side with a hundred, showing that they are the same shape and size
