End of Semester Announcements: Abstract Algebra

Due to the changes in the class structure, the final exam is optional.
The regular final exam time would be Tuesday afternoon: May 12, 3:30-5:30. My default assumption if I do not hear from you is that you wish for your grade to be determined based on the coursework, tests and quizzes up through quiz on Quotient rings and Galois isomorphisms. If you do want to take a final exam for this class and have that contribute to your course grade, you must email and let me know by the end of the day, Monday May 11. If you do wish to take a final exam, it will be cumulative, and you will be able to choose a 2-hour time window between Tuesday 3:30 and end of the day Wednesday.

Please complete and turn in all of your coursework for the class by end of the day Thursday, May 14
If you can't complete the coursework by the end of the day Thursday, please contact me via email by the end of the day Thursday, May 14th, either letting me know your schedule to complete the cousework aand/or requesting a meeting to discuss how to finish work for the course.  Some of you have already discussed with me an alternate completion schedule.  If this is the case,  you can send me an email reminding me that you will be completing coursework on an alternate schedule. If you are not able to complete everything by Sunday, May 17th, you must contact me to discuss your completion schedule.

My schedule for finals week will include time each day when I will be grading turned in assignments.  I will do my best to get everything submitted by noon graded by the end of the day, so you can get feedback before taking the quiz.

Office hours: I will be generally available to answer course related questions 10am-4pm M-F next week.  If you email me during that time, I will reply  with a link to an online discussion room. I have a few meetings during that time, but you should generally expect to hear back from me in less than an hour.

Please send questions, plans and appointment questions to me at laurel.langford@uwrf.edu
